Neuroscience Symposium

The Eastern Carolina Chapter of the Society for Neuroscience (ECCSfN) humbly invites you to attend the 28th Annual Neuroscience Symposium! It is open to anyone with an interest in neuroscience (research, clinical, and applied). We are working diligently on event programming and a schedule will be provided soon! The event will be held in-person and offers a wonderful line-up of talks from experts from UNC-Chapel Hill, UNC-Charlotte, The Jackson Laboratory, and East Carolina University. It will also have poster sessions offered by students, postdoctoral scholars, medical students, and resident physicians. Costumes are encouraged, as the Symposium is on the Friday before Halloween!

This year we are extremely excited to have Dr. Toshihide Hige, PhD from UNC-Chapel Hill as our keynote speaker:

“Synaptic and Circuit Mechanisms of Associative Learning in Drosophila”

Registration and Abstract Submission:

  • Abstract Deadline: Monday, October 26th 5:00PM EDT. If you are submitting an abstract, then additional registration is not needed.
  • Registration Deadline (for Attendance): Wednesday, October 28th 5:00PM EDT. After this date, attendees can register in-person at the Check-In/Registration Desk on October 30th.
  • Registration Fee: There is no cost for attending. Donations are graciously accepted at the Registration Desk on 10/30. If donations are made by check, please make it payable to: Eastern Carolina Chapter of the Society for Neuroscience.
  • Poster Printing:
    • Graduate/Medical Students, Postdoctoral Fellows/Resident Physicians: Follow the ECU Libraries guidelines provided by Joyner Library or Laupus Library. Presenters will need to cover the cost of poster printing charges; please coordinate with your PI/Mentor.
    • Undergraduate Students: Undergraduates who are presenting as the primary author or as a team (co-presentation) will have the printing fee waived courtesy of  the Office of Undergraduate Research. Follow the guidelines and instructions posted on the OUR Poster Printing page. This printer is for undergraduate scholarship purposes only.
